The Eugenia Hotel Bangkok

Each of the 12-suites of The Eugenia is appointed with antique furniture and fittings. The four-posted beds, settees, dressers and desks in the suites are of various vintage as are light switches and light fittings; they bring you back perhaps eighty or a hundred years, or more. The period decoration even extends to the bathtubs that were made of hand - beaten copper and aluminium-alloy.

The lobby, the reception area, the cafe, the library and the lounge are set on the ground floor while all the twelve guest rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors in the main building.

The swimming pool and the Thai sala are set in the rear courtyard; the entire pool area harkens back to a more leisurely time where people of taste sipped tea or coffee and partook of the finest delectable fares under swaying palm trees on balmy sub-tropical evenings.

As to be expected of such neo-colonial structures, there is no elevator in the building to preserve its authenticity; we apologise to those who may miss this mode of conveyance but our staffs are on hand to assist with any luggage.

The Eugenia was inspired by the owner's 83-year-old Vietnamese lady friend, whom we shall call Eugenia and her sense of chic and sophistication and, gracious living. She could well be the human embodiment of The Eugenia herself.

The Eugenia is centrally located on Soi 31, also known as Soi Sawasdee, (Thai for Warm Greetings and Welcome), on Sukhumvit Road right in the heart of the throbbing tourist district of downtown Bangkok City. From here you could range far and wide and explore the City that has everything that other SE Asian cities can only talk about. Several shopping areas are nearby within walking distance ( almost ) such as The Emporium Shopping Complex (Soi Sukhumvit 24), while Thonglo District (Soi Sukhumvit 55), the Siam Square, The Siam Paragon, The Gayson shopping center� are all in a short distance away by Skytrain. Many fine restaurants, offering both Thai and international varieties are also located in the mid Sukhumvit area, such as: Maha Naga (Thai/ Soi 29), Giusto (Italian/ Soi 23), Yuu (BBQ/ Soi 31), Bann Khanitha (Thai/ Soi 23), Le Dalat (Vietnamese/ Soi 23), Silom Village (Thai-Seafood/ Soi 31), Lemongrass (Thai/ Soi 24), Wanakarm (Thai/ Soi 23), Bella Napoli (Pizzeria/ Soi 31) , etc.
